| This caravan was for sale at the Ballarat 2002
swap meet. It was manufactured by ‘Playtime Caravans’ in Victoria in 1957.
It is a two-owner van in exceptionally good condition, having been
garaged for many years.
A few modifications have been made to the van including a fridge in
place of the original ice chest; and updated external lighting.
Cooking facilities are via a primus camping stove with a small wall
mounted gas cylinder, undoubtedly not original.
According to the “1957 Caravan & Touring Manual”, they came with a
two-burner kerosene stove.
Surprisingly, the roof of the van has no internal lining, leaving
the framework exposed.
As seen in the photographs, the caravan has neat ‘fifties’ styling.
